Privacy notice for Sunny Days Ahead

The German version of this notice is the legally binding original. This English text is a translation for convenience. If the two differ, the German text prevails.

This notice explains how SFJ Capital UG processes personal data when you use Sunny Days Ahead at sunnydaysahead.app. It does not cover hejsfj.com, our social media profiles, or Fred.

1. Controller

The controller is SFJ Capital UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Dhauner Straße 42, 67067 Ludwigshafen am Rhein, Germany, represented by the managing director Sebastian Frederik Jacobsen, commercial register HRB 67315, Amtsgericht Ludwigshafen am Rhein, email hello@hejsfj.com.

2. Data we process

  • The place name or other search text you enter, so that we can show sunshine information.
  • Device location only if you actively allow the browser or operating system to share it.
  • Technical request data, such as IP address, date and time, user agent, and the page or query requested, in server logs.
  • A message, if you email us.

3. Location is optional

You do not need to share device location. If a prompt asks for it and you agree, we use the location only to suggest a place for that visit. You can refuse and type a place instead. Refusal does not block the service. We do not build a location history as a profile.

4. Purposes and legal bases

  • Answering the search you asked for: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, because you requested that service.
  • Security logs and keeping the service available: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. You may object under Art. 21 GDPR. Strictly necessary storage on your device also relies on § 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG.
  • Answering an email: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if it is about a contract, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

5. Recipients

  • A hosting provider that delivers the service for us, as a processor under Art. 28 GDPR.
  • A climate or weather data provider, only if a lookup cannot be answered from data we already hold. It then receives the place query and not a user profile.
  • Public authorities, where the law requires disclosure.

There is no account and no payment on Sunny Days Ahead as it is currently offered. We do not sell personal data and we do not use advertising cookies. If we later add an account, a payment, or a non-essential tracker, we will update this notice first and, where the law requires consent, we will ask for it before the tool runs.

6. Transfers outside the EEA

A hosting or data provider may be outside the EEA. Where the recipient is certified under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework, that adequacy decision can apply. Otherwise we use the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the supplementary measures Chapter V GDPR requires. You can ask hello@hejsfj.com for a summary of the safeguards.

7. Retention

Search queries and server logs are kept only for a short operational period and are then deleted or anonymised. We do not keep a named user profile. Emails are deleted when the conversation is finished, unless a statutory retention duty applies.

8. Your rights

Subject to the statutory conditions, you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • Rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
  • Erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
  • Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
  • Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests, and object at any time to direct marketing (Art. 21 GDPR)
  • Withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future, where processing is based on consent (Art. 7(3) GDPR)
  • Not be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing that produces legal effects or similarly significant effects (Art. 22 GDPR)

To exercise these rights, email hello@hejsfj.com. We may ask you to confirm your identity before we disclose data. We reply within one month, extended only in the cases Art. 12(3) GDPR allows.

You may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the EU Member State of your habitual residence, your place of work, or the place of the alleged infringement (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority competent for SFJ Capital UG is:

9. Security

The service is delivered over HTTPS/TLS. Access to logs is limited to operation and security. If a personal-data breach that we must report occurs, we notify the supervisory authority and, where Art. 34 GDPR requires it, the people affected.

10. Children

Sunny Days Ahead is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly ask a child for personal data.

11. No automated decision about you

Sunshine figures are information about places, not a decision about a person. We do not carry out automated decision-making or profiling under Art. 22 GDPR. The service does not present an AI system that interacts as a person. If that changes, we will update this notice before the feature is offered. The Data Act’s switching rules for user databases do not attach to a service that does not keep an account; there is no locked-in user database to switch.

12. Changes

We update this notice when the service or the law changes. The date on the page is the date of the current version.
